Monday December 31st, 2012 - New Years Eve

This New Years Eve, J and I looked up online some things to celebrate New Years as a family and picked a few things to do that we thought would be fun for us to do together this year. It made for an amazing day..
Got the kids dressed and wanted them to wear their new shirts that we had made for them for Christmas with their names on the back but they were a bit too big.. But did get a picture of them with them on. They are just too cute, don't you think. :)

So we made a cake for us to have later as dessert and while it was cooling we painted a Happy New Year sign. The kids and J did a GREAT job.

Then we made our own shakers for when we count down to the New Year. Here's Miles filling his egg shaker with peas. He had a great time doing that.. I think he was sad when it was full. :)

Everyone filling their egg shakers with peas. :)

After lunch and nap (for Miles) we got dressed up and made our way outside for a bom fire..
Here is Campbell, Miles and J hanging out by the fire..

Campbell, Miles and I at the fire roasting octopus hot dogs.. Campbell's choice and he really enjoyed them.. We also of course roasted marshmallows and Campbell did go for a ski around the backyard and we played outside of course too.

Here is Miles with a marshmallow.. Doesn't he look like he is having fun.. Love this smile.

Here is the cake that we made.. I iced it and made the pizza dough during nap and quiet time. Our hotdogs and marshmallows were our afternoon snack. So for supper we had individual make your own pizzas (which Campbell always loves) and then cake.. We all enjoyed our supper..

Here is our sign put up in the loft, where we planned to have our countdown. We looked it up and with the time difference we could countdown to midnight with England and it would be 7:00pm our time. This way we could all countdown together and the kids (or us) wouldn't have to stay up too late and we celebrate New Years together as a family..

Miles with his shaker at 7, or midnight for us, celebrating.

Campbell and J celebrating with their shakers at our New Years.. TOO CUTE!! ROCKING OUT!!

Friday December 28th, 2012 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

So this was Christmas morning for us this year.. the kids were super excited and I think that we were too. We had lots of fun and I think the kids really liked all their gifts.. Mommy and Daddy liked theirs too.. I, myself, was REALLY impressed with J and how much thought he put into my gifts this year. As I will be honest I was not helpful at all, I truly had no clue what to ask for. He got me small thoughtful things and big thoughtful things.. It was a GREAT Christmas all around.

Here is Miles enjoying his hockey stick from Santa.

Campbell liking his dino/race car transformer, from Santa.

Miles opening some books from Santa..

The kids enjoying the Cookie Monster that Ita gave Miles.. It is so GREAT seeing them play together.. I love that.

Santa brought Campbell a batman costume and Miles a Spiderman costume for their tickle trunk..

Campbell's gift from Mommy and Daddy was his cross country skis.. He is going to start lessons the beginning of January with Daddy on Saturday afternoons. He is super excited about the skis and couldn't wait to go out and try them on. Here he is trying them on.. he skied around the driveway for a little bit.. Did really well for his first time..
