Sunday February 27, 2011 - Playing in the Snow

YEAH!! I am finally to the point where I am posting what we did today.. It was a nice day so this morning we went out in the snow and Campbell went sliding down the front yard.. Then we went exploring in the backyard.. Here are some pictures and see the next post for some videos.

Pretending to surf on the slide.. needless to say this was only done at the bottom of the hill.. not on the way down.. :)
He did though decide that going backwards down the hill might be fun.. and he really seemed to like it.. :)

Friday Febrary 18, 2011 - Brad's Visit

Mommy's friend Brad (who is a balloon guy) came for a visit. He hung out for a while and then was nice enough to make a couple of balloon friends for Campbell.. Campbell was absolutely thrilled with them and was so excited watching him make them. It was a great visit, Campbell and Mommy both had a lot of fun.

February 15, 2011 - Cookie Monster Video

So for those that don't know, since Campbell turned two that is all he is.. I have asked him if he is "my good boy" to which he says "no" and when I ask him what he is then, he says "two" holding up two fingers.

But he has had a huge imagination in the last while.. and is always pretending to be one thing or another.. a dog or cookie monster or a pirate are the most common things.

This video he was going around pretending to be cookie monster and putting on a funny voice and what not.. until of course I took out the camera to get a video of it.. :)

Wednesday February 9th, 2011 - Museum of Nature

Campbell and Mommy went to the Museum of Nature today. Daddy got a free year membership for all of his hard work for the renovations. We didn't get there until 10:30 and thought that we wouldn't be able to have time to see everything, so Campbell got to choose from the map what he wanted to see. But he was so good and kept wanting to see the next thing that we stayed for over 2 hours and saw the whole place. Some sections quicker than others, then had lunch at the restaurant there. It was an amazing day.. So much fun to see him so excited over the "BIG DINOSAURS" and all the other exhibits. He has so many more words too, to describe what he is seeing and how excited he is about it.. It was so much fun..

Campbell wanted to see the DINOSAURS first of course.. This is Campbell in front of the "BABY DINOSAUR".

Campbell in front of the MOMMY DINOSAUR.. He loved the dinosaurs, the bones or these more realistic looking ones.. he loved it, his eyes were wide and he pointed at everything.. talking up a storm, telling me all about what he was seeing..

This was in the bird sanctuary, which Campbell loved.. He got so excited about a display that showed an egg, then a duck at 5 days old, then 20 days old, then 50 days old and then the adult duck.. He stood there for ages.. saying "the egg cracks open and out comes the baby duck!!" and the hands start together and then as shown below. :) It was too cute and the security guard just loved it.. couldn't help but watch and smile.. he did this many many times.

This is the rescue vehicle in the kids area of the bird sanctuary that Campbell liked to play in but kept saying "too hard, Mommy" because the steering wheel wouldn't turn..

Campbell and his map.. He was so proud to hold onto it and pick the next thing for us to see.. It was really cute.

What a GREAT DAY!!! I can't tell you how eye opening and fun it was to go there with him.. and just see him.. he was so good and it was so GREAT to see him so excited and learning and talking.. it was so much FUN!! Hopefully next time Daddy will be able to come too.

Tuesday January 18, 2011 - New Housecoat

Found this hand me down housecoat from cousin Blake and Campbell loved it.. for three of four days he wore it after his bath and then proceeded to sleep in it because we couldn't get him to take it off. So Mommy had to hide it for a few days.. He still loves it but we haven't let him put it on after his bath in the night yet because he would be too hot with that on to sleep..

Saturday January 15, 2011 - Finishing Campbell's New Big Boy Room

Campbell helped Daddy finish up making his bed frame for his new big boy bed. We didn't start using his new big boy bed not on the floor until the following Sunday night because we wanted to get the bed rails on the bed to help him stay in.. He moves around a lot.

Campbell was so proud to help Daddy make this with his hammer. :)

New big boy room and bed and quilt.. Thanks Nanny for the beauiful Jungle themed quilt, that is where we picked the colours for the walls from and we are both pleased with the colours.

Friday January 14th, 2011 - Jam Face

We had toast with jam for breakfast this morning and of course Campbell ended up covered and I took a few pictures and sent them to Daddy at work to give him a laugh.

Sunday January 9, 2011 - Campbell's 2nd Birthday Party

This year for Campbell's 2nd birthday we had his party on Sunday January 9, 2011 from 10 to 1 and invited all his friends. We had about 11 kids and 17 parents, pizza and cake. It went really well, the kids played then had pizza and cake and everyone seemed to have a great time. We decided not to open gifts at the party because it might be too many hard sharing lessons and a lot of tears.. so we left that until everyone or was gone. But thanks to everyone for the beautiful clothes and toys. Campbell loved everything.

And then... CAKE.. Everyone was excited about the Elmo cake and cupcakes.. the cupcakes especially went fast.. I will have to remember that for next year.. cupcakes a HUGE hit.. Campbell blew out the candle with one try.. good boy..

Then there was storytime with J. Too cute.. this lasted a long time. :) Hannah, Campbell, Lily and Oscar kind of just played around.

Saturday January 8, 2011 - Making Campbell's 2nd Birthday Cake and Cupcakes

I decided that because Campbell really likes Elmo that would be the cake and cupcakes would be Elmo. So Saturday we made the Elmo head cake and cupcakes and Campbell was so thrilled with them he kept asking to be lifted up to see them AGAIN on the table.. It was really cute.

He was so proud of the Elmo cake and cupcakes, it was really cute.

January 4, 2011 - Campbell's Actual 2nd Birthday

Campbell's 2nd Birthday was a Tuesday this year, so we just had a quiet favourite supper of Campbell's, PIZZA.. and a chocolate treat for dessert.. he opened one gift before supper and the rest after supper. He got a lot of really nice gifts from family, thank you to everyone for the wonderful gifts. Daddy and Mommy got him a guitar as his main gift which he really liked.

Our Third Christmas - At HOME..

By this time Campbell was a pro at opening gifts and really liked all of the things that Santa brought for him.

He really liked the wagon that Mom and Dad got for him even though he kept calling it a boat because we hadn't put the wheels on it yet.. :) This is the Little People Track that Ita and family gave Campbell. He loved it..

Christmas trip to Newfoundland (continued)

Christmas Day, Campbell liked all of his presents and had a lot of fun opening. It was somewhat overwhelming for him, so we did it in stages.. and he was very good..
