Sunday January 15th, 2012 - Campbell's 3rd Birthday Party

Campbell's 3rd Birthday Party was a huge hit and a lot of FUN!! We kept it pretty relaxed and had some of his friends over.. They played, had some chips, pizza and then cake.. everyone seemed to have fun and that is the main thing.. This year due to Campbell's love of animals I asked him his favourite animal, he answered "Lion"..
So I made a Lion cake and Monkey cupcakes. He has always loved monkey's.. who doesn't like monkeys.. (they make a fun sound and you can even do the actions..)
Campbell before anyone got to the party, posing with his cake and cupcakes.
Campbell blowing out his candle.. he sat with a very proud face while we all sang and then acted shy and didn't want to blow out the candle.. which is strange because he loves to blow out candles.. But Daddy stepped in to help out, which worked out beautifully.. ;)
Some pics of Campbell's friends that came..
Hannah and Miles.. Miles had fun at the birthday party too.. It is wild to see him getting so much more involved in playing with everyone..
Campbell's parties always have a bit of storytime.. His love of books, I guess, makes this inevitable.. :)
Can't get over how much older he looks to me.. Our sweet boy is 3...

Wednesday January 4th, 2012 - Campbell's Third Birthday

So for his actual birthday, being that I am on Mat Leave and home for it with him, I wanted to do something special.. but because it was still in the two weeks of holidays for the Christmas vacation from school, most places still had camps on the go therefore the drop-in stuff was not available. But we found Little Ray's Reptile Zoo.. It isn't far and Campbell loves animals and they have shows that are free with admission.
Campbell here waiting for the start of the "Feeding Show"..
Our brave 3 year old holding Rosie the tarantula, which as you can see was bigger than his hand. He said to me "It's ok Mommy, it was only a nice little spider." This was part of a touching animals show.. they were really good in making sure that every kid in the audience that wanted to, got to touch each animal.
Campbell and Miles engrossed in the animals being shown.
Campbell touching the iguana.
Campbell petting the very large snake named Steve.
Don't you think he looks older.. Wow our big 3 year old.. Can't believe it..
We waited for Daddy to get home to open gifts after supper. More gifts and he loved them all. Thanks to everyone.
Miles likes watching and pushing around the kitchen chairs..
Campbell in amazement watching his car race around his new track from Mommy and Daddy..
Here is the new track.. the cars go pretty fast.. it is the blur that has just gone under the bridge.
Our neighbours and friends, Laura and Danylko, came by because Danylko wanted to give Campbell his gift on his birthday.. (Really I think he wanted to play the game).. too cute.. They played the fishing game that and had fun..

Saturday December 31st, 2011 - New Year's Eve

This New Year's we had our neighbours Heather, Shawn and Grace over for supper and we hung out for a bit.. It was a lot of fun..
Campbell had fun being the cowboy for a while..
Then the New Year celebrations..
We got some glow necklaces and glasses.. aren't the glasses priceless.. they were a bit big but definitely hilarious..
Then out came the horns.. Needless to say the horns were hidden once Campbell went to bed.. But they had a lot of fun with them..
Miles had fun too.. laughing at the other two crazy kids.. :)
Happy New Year..
I love this picture.. midjump.. :)
And in case you are wondering... no we didn't let Campbell stay up until midnight.. He was up a little late but not too bad.. and did Mom and Dad make it to midnight.... Nope.. :)

Wednesday December 28th, 2011 - Getting Ready for Santa

Here are some pictures of us getting ready for Santa's visit back on Edgewater.

Campbell in front of his stocking.
All of our stockings hung..
Santa's cookies, and orange juice (Campbell decided that is what Santa would like) and of course some carrots for the reindeer.. Remember we only landed this morning from Newfoundland so the cookies are not homemade.. but with Santa it is the thought that counts.. :)
